Motor City Collection Of Memories DVD
The Motor City Collection Of Memories DVD features video & pictures from Motor City Roller Rink from 1961-1986. It also includes reunions, get-togethers, the annual canoe trip, and the recent weekend we spent with each other celebrating Motor City's beautiful exhibit, as part of the March 13, 2005 Grand Opening of the Warren Historical Society, at the Warren Community Center.

Video from the early 1960's
(around 1963):
Saturday afternoon matinee, with Eddie Hakim Sr., Joe Blavatt, and Johnny
McCullough floorguarding. Look close, and you may also see David Hakim
skating, as well as tons of session kids (maybe you?).
The video also shows Joe & Rose (Martin) Blavatt teaching a class, as well as
great footage of the front (marquis & ticket booth) outside building, the skate
rental area, and 'rules of conduct'.

Call it 'Post Motor City'... A collection of pictures showing employees, and
skaters from all of the years at Motor City celebrating at get-togethers,
reunions, and everyday life since Motor City was torn down. Mostly candid
shots.
Annual Canoe Trip:
One of my favorite times of the year (when I can go)! A collection of
pictures of canoe trips through the years. Mostly candids.

skating get-together at the Great Skate. Contains candids, a nice
group shot from the get-together, some video of Warren Mayor, Mark Steenburgh,
making a speech, the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, and some people who stopped by the
display at the Community Center during the Grand-Opening.

Competition Video from
the 1950's:
This is a great quality black & white video showing various parts (speed,
freestyle, and dance) of a competition at Rolladium, in Pontiac, Michigan in the
late 1950's. There are a couple of skaters (I'm quite sure but still
waiting for absolute confirmation) on the video that later skated,
or taught lessons, at Motor City.
